About Norridge Gardens

Norridge Gardens is a 292 bed skilled nursing facility located in Norridge, Illinois, in the North West side of Chicago. Norridge Gardens is just north of the Irving Park and Harlem Avenue intersection. Our doors opened to serve the community over 30 years ago. Our foundation of excellence has generated satisfied families who have been repeated customers that desire Norridge Gardens for our quality care.

Norridge Gardens has all the amenities of home to make your stay as comfortable as possible from our Tiffany Dining Room, live entertainment, religious services, a laundry room and beauty salon and barbershop.  Our patio even has a clear view of the downtown Chicago skyline. Chicago is home to one of the largest Polish populations in the United States.  Norridge Gardens specializes in serving the Polish community with cultural activities, language programs and services.  We speak Polish. Norridge Gardens provides health care to individuals in need of skilled nursing care for long term or for short-term and rehabilitation.  Many short term guests who come here for rehabilitation choose to stay at Norridge Gardens long term for their care needs because they have experienced the quality of care and excellence in service.

Healthcare services include Wound Care, IV and Nutritional Services, Drain Management, Respiratory and Tracheostomy care and Physical, Occupational and Speech Rehabilitation Therapy in a skilled nursing environment.  Norridge Gardens has a secure Memory Care Unit with dedicated staff and programs. We excel in transitioning the patient from a hospital stay to a successful return home so the patient can maintain their independence.

Meet Our Staff

About Shully Lichtman, LNHA

A licensed administrator in both Illinois and Indiana, Shully brings over 7 years of experience as both an Administrator and a Regional Director of Operations to the management team at Norridge Gardens. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Shully moved to Chicago in 2008 and attended The College of DuPage, where he was awarded a Certificate in Long Term Care with highest honors. He started his career in Long Term Care with Aperion Care as an Administrator in Training, Assistant Administrator and then as an Administrator in both Illinois and Indiana. He then transitioned to Legacy Healthcare and the Symphony Post-Acute Network, serving as an Administrator, Transitions Specialist and Regional Director of Operations. New to Norridge Gardens but not to the industry, Shully brings a strong culture of customer service and follow-up to Norridge Gardens. Shully resides with his wife and 4 children (3 boys and 1 girl - his “boss”) in Chicago. His goal, aside from seeing the Cubs win another World Series, is for Norridge Gardens to continue to be a premier destination for rehabilitation with a phenomenal guest experience from check-in to check-out.

About Marcie Hirschberg

Marcie attained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Dominican University. She has been a part of the Norridge Gardens team since 2013. She has held a few roles such as social services, assistant administrator, and now admissions director. She continues to love working with a great team who are making a difference and work with their heart.

About Marta Kolasa

Marta worked in healthcare for many years at a crisis hotline, a psychiatric group home, and then as a mental health therapist before migrating to admissions for skilled nursing facilities. She loves this business because of the people. “The dedication by the staff and the families is truly amazing!”

About Terry Jacobson-Spinks

Terry has worked in the healthcare field for over 25 years working with people of diverse backgrounds with health issues. “Working in a skilled nursing facility at Norridge Gardens, is an ideal setting for me to utilize my experience, and continue my love of working with the geriatric population and their families.”

About Rob Fleming

With a healthcare background spanning 20 years, Rob Fleming is the Marketing Director at Norridge Gardens. His broad experience in the Chicagoland healthcare area allows him to provide guidance regarding Norridge Gardens programs with needs assessment, superior customer service and meticulous follow through.

About Angela R. Stewart

Angela Stewart holds a MBA with over twenty years of sales, marketing and management experience, primarily in the education and healthcare industries. Her desire to do work that impacts lives daily is what brought her to Norridge Gardens. As Marketing Director, Angela assists in maintaining our presence as the premier choice for patients and families.

About Lana Petrovich

Lana has been a nurse since 2008. She has extensive experience in long term care with dementia and hospice. She has been working with Norridge Gardens since 2013. Prior to nurse liaison, she has been involved with the wound care and restorative department.

About Nihad Hmeedan

Nihad has been a nurse for 24 years. She received a Master’s Degree in Public Health, with a focus in Health Organization Management. In the past, she was a Clinical Instructor for nursing students.

About Ella Swislocka

Ella Swislocka has been working at Norridge Gardens since 2005. She has worked as a CNA and most currently as our Polish Relations Coordinator overseeing the Polish Program. She has also worked as the Atrium Coordinator in our memory care unit. She has a degree in nursing/midwifery from Poland.

About Cassie Raiman, MSW

Cassie has a Master's degree from Jane Adam's School of Social Work through University of Illinois at Chicago. She has been part of the Norridge Gardens team since 2012 and enjoys working with older people very much.
